Birthday Haul [365 to 40]

I picked up a few things for my birthday from Sephora in late March. Mainly to claim the yearly birthday gift before the month ended. I haven’t shopped much at Sephora over the past two years since I discovered Ulta and the Dermstore.

Haul included:
Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer – I love a glossy lip and wanted to try at least one Rhinna created product. This universal shade is so pretty and definitely work appropriate.

Kiehl’s Since 1851 Mini Mask Sampler Set – I have been eyeing the Kiehls mask individually for quite a while now but didn’t want to spend a lot for such large jars.  This sampler set is perfect and each 0.5oz jar provides enough for a few routines. I just bought this last week of March and it is now no longer on the site.
Set includes Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Masque, Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Mask, Ginger Leaf & Hibiscus Firming Mask, Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask & Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Mask. The prices do vary from $32 to $54.

I also claimed a few rewards:

500 pt perk – Fresh Mini Mask Bar – Soy face cleanser, Umbrian clay purifying mask, Lotus youth preserve rescue mask and Rose face mask. Each mask retails for $25 – $58.

Proganix quench Hair Care Line [Review]

20150913_011337~2_resizedTransform your dry, parched hair into hydrated, silky perfection with this unique supercharged, lightweight blend infused with coconut water, electrolytes and coconut oil.

Shampoo – Don’t let the gentle lather fool you—this unique formula is full of powerful ingredients and infused with coconut water, electrolytes, and coconut oil. Drench your dry, lifeless tresses with lightweight moisture to help make your hair look healthier and make you feel unstoppable.

Conditioner – In just a few minutes you can help transform your dry hair into luscious locks with this powerful formula infused with coconut water, electrolytes and coconut oil.

Moisture Balm – When flyaways pop up, use this moisture balm to help calm them down.

Leave-in Moisture – Looking to transform thirsty hair into silky, shiny perfection? This leave-in spray infused with coconut water, electrolytes and coconut oil will do just the trick.

Where to purchase? Any major retailer/drugstore/grocery store e.g. Target, Ulta, Walgreens, CVS, Safeway etc.

My Thoughts: I enjoyed using this haircare line. The shampoo and conditioner were thick and left my hair feeling soft and bouncy. It is not have the stripping effect on the hair that other brands have. My favorite products were the the Moisture Balm and Leave-in-Moisture. These were amazing and added so much moisture to my curly hair, while reducing frizz. I like this coconut scent. It was refreshing and very pleasant.

Coconut Water & Vanilla Milk –  A moisturizing yet refreshingly lightweight formula that blooms with the tropical fragrance of coconut water and vanilla milk,  that quenches and softens dehydrated hair. This line consists of an hydrating shampoo, conditioner, a 2-in-1 shampoo and a hair mask.  Formulated for dehydrated hair.

Honey Treasures – A creamy, lush formula blooming with the delicious fragrance of royal jelly, honey, and propolis extracts that strengthens hair and helps prevent split ends and breakage. Formulated to replenish and repair damaged hair. This line consists of a shampoo, conditioner, and  hair mask.

My Thoughts – I enjoyed using each of the Garnier Whole Blends formulas. They smell amazing and each does what it claims. I would definitely purchase the full size of each. My overall favorite is the Honey Treasures. There are a total of six blends in the line and I may try to explore the remaining three which sound great Green Apple & Green Tea, Argan Oil & Cranberry and Avocado Oil and Shea Butter.

GlossyBox August 2013

This box was okay, not wow. This box included all full but not high value items except one. Also included was a nice little Guess makeup bag and a 30% coupon which I did not get to use. The value of this box was $69.40.

I think these two were full size: the face spritz I haven’t use yet it has to join the long line of others I have to use up first (retails for $9.00); next is this hair repair treatment cream which I haven’t tried yet but plan to (retails for $4.99).

I don’t really like this nail polish by itself but may use it in a nail art manicure.

A full size Jellly Pong Pong lip blush, a bit too pink for my liking. A super barbie pink. (retails for $18.00)

This is by far the best item in the box. It actually matched my skin tone (finally!!! GlossyBox finally!!!)
What’s even better I found it as a set at Macy’s. I am super excited because I plan to repurchase this once this is finished. It applies smoothly and it’s dry or powdery as some other face powders. Retails for $28 and is well worth it. I will try to review this at a later date.

Influenster VoxBox Review -Tampax and Always Radiant Collection

I haven’t seen this yet but I’ll be on the look out. I only use Always or Stayfree products so I was more than happy when I opened the box and saw these samples.
Samples came in this cute although lopsided pouch.

Samples included: 2 tampons, a couple of panty-liners, a pad and a couple of coupons.
The tampon packaging was so cute, colorful and well designed, which is appreciated. Remember when tampons came in those horrible cardboard sleeves. This is definitely an upgrade. I am not a fan of tampons but I did use these and they did the job, the smoothness of the applicator was a plus.

Finally some instructions!!!!! Have you ever been stumped as to which end is to the front and which goes to the back? I know I have and it does make a big difference in one’s comfort throughout the day. I loved this, it was almost as if I wasn’t wearing it at all. It is   designed to keep fluid away from the skin and air channels to keep you dry all day. I’ll be picking this up when Always goes on sale.

Overall I am pleased with this collection, and will not purchase this collection as it is packaged but definitely the Always Radiant Infinity.

Influenster Summer Beauty VoxBox 2012

I was over the moon when I got another chance to participate in the Influenster Beauty VoxBox Program for 2012. If you missed my last VoxBox (The Love VoxBox) you can check it out here.
Included in this box: Sally Hansen Nails and cuticle Hand Creme, Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color Silver Elements, Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy, Tampax and Always Radiant Collection, Quaker Soft Baked Bar in Banana Nut Bread, Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen SPF 30.
Initial Impression – I love everything and can’t wait to try everything out except the Banana Nut Bread (I am allergic to bananas but I will have someone test it for me). I’ve already tried the lotion, nail polish and cuticle creme.
So stay tuned more in depth reviews, swatches etc.

Happy Summer Everyone!!!!

Use it or Lose it – Samples must go

A new take on Project 10 pan – Project Samples.

So many samples, just when I thought I was rid of them they just accumulated again. I have many Lancome mascaras that I love (my fav high end mascara) Doll Lashes & Hypnose. When I took this pic I had over twenty perfume vials but now I only have 5 left. The rest I have to plough through but if I haven’t used them up by the end of July I’ll either offer them to someone or toss them.

I need to use up these lip glosses ASAP!!! I have given away half to my sister so I need to use up the rest before I can open the new ones that I’ve purchased.

MyGlam Bag – May

Here’s the MyGlam bag for the month of May and although I was really happy with the Nail Bling, I was underwhelmed with the rest. Included are the final two brushes to complete the MyGlam brush set. A sample of philosophy’s ‘love sweet love’ and a full size tube of Studio Gear Winter red l/s. I was confused by the theme of ‘Love is in the Air’ since it’s now Spring/Summer and everyone else is going along with that theme versus hearts and kisses.

I think I may cancel my subscription and try to sign up for Glossy Box. I’ve gotten some great products and a couple of makeup bags.
