Overall Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer will:
* Lightens dark spots
* Restores skin radiance
* Evens skin tone
* Diminishes fine lines
* Provides all-day hydration
* Nourishes skin

Key Ingredients:
Botanical Hyaluronic Acid: Floods skin with moisture, supports skin elasticity, and plumps skin from within.
Kojic Acid: Controls melanin production and prevents dark spots.
Ginseng: Boosts skin firming collagen, fights wrinkles, and gives the skin a brighter and more energized look.
Safflower Oil: Repairs skin’s natural moisture barrier and provide superior skin protection.
Shea Butter: Infuses skin with a myriad of vitamins and nutrients for superior skin hydration and nourishment.

Valentia Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer can be used both morning and night, and makes an excellent starting base for your makeup application. It is suitable for all skin types and provides superior hydration for both; dry to normal and oily/combo skin types.

How To Use:
Apply on face, neck and decollete. Suitable for use in the AM and PM, after cleansing, toning and essence/serum application.

My Thoughts: This is a very thick, white moisturizer that is easily absorbed into the skin. The bottle comes with a pump that is very helpful. It does not have any specific scent which is a big plus as I am not really a fan of strong scented especially citrus face creams/moisturizers/serums. It is very hydrating which does last all day and my skin is noticeably more radiant.l think I will need to use it for a significant period of time in order to see the other effects such as the reduction in wrinkles and lightening of dark spots.
I love that it is chock full of natural ingredients. In addition to the ones noted above lemon extract, vitamin B5, green tea, aloe, licorice, salicylic acid among others. I am a fan of the Valentia line of products.

Clarins Ombre Iridescente Eyeshadow in Silver Plum [Review & Swatches]

The new Clarins Ombre Iridescente Cream-to-Powder Iridescent Eyeshadow in Silver Plum (no. 07) was released earlier this year as a part of the Spring 2016 Collection. This is a gorgeous purple taupe, a deep smokey lavender with a silver undertone.

Clarins have blended iridescent, soft-focus pigments with bamboo powder for stay-true brilliance and long-lasting wear. A Vitamin E derivative keeps lids comfortable. Casts a soft, pearlescent glow during the day; a stylized, high-voltage iridescence at night.

This shadow combines the ease and comfort of a cream with the long wear if a powder. It’s gives a sparkling not glittery finish. It is very smooth and the texture in the little pot is a cross between the Chanel Ombres and the L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows. This shadow does hold up on for at least 8hrs with or without a cream base with minimal creasing.  I do however always use an eyeshadow primer due to my oily lids.

These shadows are gentle enough for sensitive eyes and are dermatologist- and ophthalmologist-tested.

The new #Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector shades are no.07 Toffee Pink Shimmer and no. 08 Plum Shimmer. @clarinsnews
These are gorgeous shades and are super glossy with no detectable shimmer. The wear is comfortable and plum shimmer leaves a slight stain. Toffee Pink gives me the my lips but better look.

[Review] Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant

Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant

20160224_215836-2_resizedPaula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant rapidly exfoliates to unclog pores and improve skin’s appearance by acting on the skin’s surface and inside the pores.  The lightweight liquid formula allows for a faster, more gentle, exfoliation making it ideal for unclogging pores.

There is a great deal of research indicating that BHA (salicylic acid) drastically  of skin. Beta hydroxy acid (BHA) or Salicylic acid exfoliates skin to improve its texture (smooths the surface) and tone. It is the main ingredient in numerous acne products.

* 2% BHA unclogs & diminishes enlarged pores.
* Green tea extract calms redness.
* Dramatically improves skin’s texture for radiant, even-toned skin.
* Clinically proven to hydrate, brighten & smooth fine lines.

Key Ingredients: methylpropanediol, salicylic acid, green tea, BHA (beta hydroxy acid).

Product Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Methylpropanediol (slip agents/penetration enhancers), Butylene Glycol (slip agents/penetration enhancers), Salicylic Acid (beta hydroxy acid/exfoliant), Polysorbate 20 (solubilizing agent), Camellia Oleifera (Green Tea) Leaf Extract (anti-irritant/antioxidant), Sodium Hydroxide (pH balancer), Tetrasodium EDTA (chelating agent)

Suitable for: All skin types but is better especially suited for those with normal to oily/combination skin/blemish-prone skin. This product is 100% fragrance- and colorant-free, non-irritating, not tested on animals and has a pH of between 3.2-3.8.

What does it do? Smooths out wrinkles, counteracts the effects of aging, tightens enlarged pores, reduces blackheads and redness.

How to Use: Apply once or twice daily after cleansing and toning. Lightly soak a cotton pad and apply over the entire face, including the eye area but avoid the lower lash line and eyelids. Do not rinse. If used during the daytime, follow up with a broad-spectrum sunscreen rated SPF 25 or greater.

Volume: 4.oz.

Where to Purchase: The Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant retails for $28 and can be purchased directly from Paula’s Choice, the SkinStore, the DermStore and QVC.

My Thoughts: I like this exfoliator and regard it as a second toner in my skin care routine. It is very mild and non-irritating and even those with sensitive skin will be able to use it with no issues. I had a few dry patches (winter induce skin issue). I use this at night as part of my East-meets-West skin care routine. BHA is now more commonly used in many non-acne products as it is very effecting in reducing wrinkles and improving the texture of aging skin. I will continue to use this more or less until it is finished to truly access the results but so far no issues and my skin continues to improve daily.

20160106_065559~2_resized 20160106_065616~2_resizedHOW TO USE: Apply a small amount of Firming DMAE Eye Lift onto the fingertips and using light pressure, pat around the entire orbital area after cleansing. For best results, use morning and evening. Can be used under makeup as well.

20151224_195329-2_resizedThe Eye Lift was sent with other derma|e products currently available at target. The Hydrating Night Crème is my current night-time moisturizer. I really like it and may repurchase.  Also included were samples of the Hydrating Day Crème and Firming DMAE Moisturizer. These will be coming with me on my upcoming work trips.

MY THOUGHTS: This is a very nice eye crème that easily absorbs does not cause any irritation and does not leave any white residue. I use this twice daily even under my makeup. It does not have any effects on my under eye concealer/powder. I would definitely have to use this for at least a full month or more to really assess its effectiveness. But as of today I have no issues so I will continue to use it.
I extended my review time for this eye crème because I really wanted to use it and experience the changes. I have incorporated it in Am/PM routine but got sidetracked with some so severe dry skin issues since the last week of December 2015. So severe that today [02.01.016] I had to go to an Urgent Care because the dry patches around my eyes (brow, lids and under eye) got so irritated and inflamed that that were swelling out of control and I had to be put on steroids via IV and orally. Because of this can not give a proper review as the before and after pics that I was planning to include in this review are now pointless. The skin around my eyes is comparable to reptile skin 🙁 I am so upset and will have to see a dermatologist to get to the bottom of this.
Overall, I like this eye crème and am interested in other products in the derma|e line especially the facial oils. The oils range in price from $11.50 to $23.50 at other retailers such as and Vitacost. On my Target Shopping list for January was definitely coffee and sugar  [update: got those], to consume as well as to make some DIY scrubs to get the ‘winter’ dead skin off.

1. Patented NeoGlucosamine® exfoliates skin to help break up existing dark spots, creating more even pigment
2. Vitamin C amps up the brightening process by helping diminish the look of existing dark spots and preventing the formation of new spots
3. Lightly hydrating serum leaves skin luminous, cushioned with moisture
4. Masque is designed to adjust to fit any face so it adheres and locks in the active-rich formula

DIRECTIONS: After cleansing, place the masque over the entire face, gently smoothing the fabric onto skin. Leave the masque on for 10 minutes allowing skin to absorb the potent brighteners. After 10 minutes, remove and discard the masque, massaging excess solution into the skin. Follow with a moisturizer. For best results, use with Exuviance® OptiLight products. Use once or twice a week.

KEY INGREDIENTS: NeoGlucosamine®, Vitamin C.

INGREDIENT LIST: Aqua (Water), Trimethylolpropane Tricaprylate/Tricaprate, Butylene Glycol, Acetyl Glucosamine, Glycerin, Polysorbate 20, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Acetyl Tyrosinamide, 4-Butylresorcinol, Citric Acid, Phospholipids, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dimethicone, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Extract, Elettaria Cardamomum Seed Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Extract, Plumeria Rubra Flower Extract, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Fruit Extract, Hedychium Spicatum Extract, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Flower Extract, Hibiscus Abelmoschus Extract, Gardenia Tahitensis Flower Extract, Polianthes Tuberosa Extract, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Flower Extract, Ceteth-24, Ceteareth-20, Steareth-2, Cetearyl Alcohol, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Ammonium Hydroxide, Sodium Citrate, Limonene, Hydroxycitronellal, Linalool, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorphenesin, CI 60730 (Ext. Violet 2), CI 42090 (Blue 1).

THE FIT: So this is not the best fitting mask. Although they say it is designed to fit any face, I did not find that to be the case. The ‘design’ feature I think they are referring to is the many slits around the edges (which is a huge plus). This is something different from the typical Asian sheet mask which I usually have to make slits in order for them to fit properly. I am not sure is the largeness of the mask is due to the idea that the bone structure of Westerners is larger than that of Asians. The lifting edges will make it difficult to sit upright so it is best to lay down or sit in a reclined position. Even then due to the thickness of the mask it does not lay flush to the skin.

MY THOUGHTS: Despite my comments on the fit of the masque/mask, I actually think it is working. I have only used a couple of the masks to date because after use I noticed a bit of dryness and peeling. The exfoliating effects of NeoGlucosamine® at work? But I have noticed that my skin looks a bit lighter. I am not using any other whitening/lightening/brightening masks or products so I am quite sure that the difference I see is due to this product. I can only use this once every two weeks (I use soothing and hydrating masks in between) because of the dryness but I am willing to use all the mask in order to see the difference. I will try to post a 12 week update.
Another thing that I noticed is that right out of the packet the masque appears and feels dry. In the Asian mask world this would be frowned upon. However, it is moist to the touch which I find strange and even will the ill fit, after the 10 minutes one does observe the solution [essence] remaining to be massaged into the skin.  The masque also has a light blue color which I thought would transfer to the skin but it did not and as it dried (well to me) the fabric turns white.At first when the description said lift-off masque I thought it was one of those new rubber or modeling clay masks that you would actually have to lift off. But alas this is a sheet mask.
The masque (6 masques at 0.60 fl oz per masque packette) retails for $65 on Exuviance. A fair price for a well formulated product that works.

Made in the USA.

The OZ Naturals Amino Herbal Hydration Mask (AHHM) plumps the epidermis with a powerful combination of rosehip oil, pro-vitamin B5, amino acid complex and an organic herbal blend that deeply nourishes and penetrates aging skin like no other face mask. The mask has an opaque gel consisting of an aloe vera juice base, that further delivers moisture directly into the skin, with a calming and cooling effect to hydrate and replenish. The aloe vera base is an example of a botanical solvent that shuttle the moisture repair and replenishing ingredients. AHHM is considered to be the most effective form of hydration for dry dull skin.

AHHM as with all other OZ Naturals products are proudly cruelty free, 100% vegan and ‘Made in the USA’ in a state of the art FDA registered facility. It retails via Amazon between $12.77 – $21.99.

Key Ingredients:
Silk Protein Amino Acids – Amino acids are the basis for all living tissue, and are vital to the creation and function of healthy skin. Our selected amino acids, derived from plant sources, form the building blocks for collagen and elastin.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) – HA is a glycosaminoglycan that is widely distributed throughout various tissues of the body. For the skin HA increase its ability to retain moisture for example 1 gram of HA can hold 1000 ml of water. It increase the smoothness of the skin and the reduction of wrinkles. Regular use of Hyaluronic Acid aids in plumping the skin to appear more youthful and smooths skin for a softer, silkier feeling.

Vitamin E – A powerful antioxidant that works to neutralize free radicals and prevent cellular damage, Vitamin E protects, repairs, soothes and moisturizes the skin.

Vitamin B5 – Also known as Panthenol is a natural humectant, which penetrates the lower layers of the skin to help retain moisture and provide a soft, smooth appearance. Its exfoliating properties also fight free radicals and promote new, healthy skin cells.

A full list of ingredients which are 72% Organic can be found here

Directions For Use: After cleansing and exfoliating, apply and leave on skin for 15-30 minutes. Moisten with lukewarm and gently rinse to remove, and pat skin dry. Follow with serums and moisturizer. Gentle enough for everyday use.

My Thoughts: I am a huge fan of facial masks especially those with identifiable natural ingredients. Hydration masks are great for the drier winter months and those who suffer from dry skin. The amino acid complex contains key vitamins which are known to be extremely beneficial for the skin and health in general. I like mask that comes in a tube versus a jar. The mask is gel-like in consistency and a bit opaque and once applied tingled a bit. The tingling went away after about 30 seconds. I loved this mask and kept it on for more than 30 minutes (I have used this a couple of times). Afterwards my skin was very soft and the next morning looked and felt supple. As a super hydrating mask this is perfect for winter as the air is dry and cold (not good for one’s skin).

OZ Naturals Matrix 6 Mega Bright Eye Gel – Review

Matrix 6 is an highly effective eye gel packed with ingredients that deliver including Haloxyl for dark circles, Matrixyl Synthe’6 to help lift wrinkles, skin-protecting Apple Stem Cells, Caffeine to reduce puffiness and Hyaluronic Acid to attract moisture. This formula covers all eye skin related concerns.

Haloxyl – an anti-inflammatory that helps diminish and fade the appearance of dark circles with repeated use.
Caffeine – included to reduce puffiness; Hyaluronic Acid attracts moisture, and Apple Stem Cells protect skin and help preserve a more youthful look.
Matrixyl Synthe’6 – known for its wrinkle lifting effects which helps to reduce the appearance of crow’s feet and forehead lines.

Matrix 6 Mega Bright Eye Gel should be used morning and evening, and can be applied under makeup. Can be applied around the entire eye area.

Matrix 6 as with all other OZ Naturals products are proudly “MADE IN THE USA” in a state of the art FDA registered facility, OZ Naturals formulates some of the most effective anti-aging products on the market. It retails via Amazon between $19.95 – $21.49.

MY THOUGHTS: This is a slightly opaque gel that quickly absorbs into the skin. Apart from its quick absorption into the skin, I like that it does not irritate my eyes and that it can be used on all eye areas. This is a plus as many eye gel, creams or serums are limited to the under eye area. Being able to use a product on the lids and around the eye in general will be beneficial as lid skin thins and is prone to wrinkles and the other area lines in addition to wrinkles. After using for the past two weeks I have also noticed that my dark circles are diminishing even more. I can go make up free without worrying about my dark circles being obvious. Matrix 6 has become one of my favorite eye ‘skin care’ products.
