I have been looking for a black stay all day eyeshadow base and decided to try Make Up Forever’s Aqua Cream Black (no.27) . This ultra pigmented waterproof cream product can be used as either an eyeshadow base or long-lasting stand alone shadow. No 27 gives a rich black finish that is buildable, transform shadows placed on top, lasts all day and can be applied with the fingertip or a synthetic brush.
This product was purchased with my own funds.
Here is a glimpse of Make Up Forever’s Aqua Cream Emerald Green (no.22) . This ultra pigmented waterproof cream product can be used as either an eye shadow base or long-lasting stand alone shadow. No 22 gives a gorgeous golden green sheen that is buildable, lasts all day and can be applied with the fingertip or a synthetic brush.

Primer – TFSI
Base-MUFE Aqua Creme # 12
NYX – Burgundy Pearl & 24 Karet
Marbella – Permanent Eyeliner in Black
The only cube I didn’t use in this look was Go Violet (dark purple)
I applied MAC Painterly Paintpot over TFSI and Tint it Pink (light pink/champange color) all over the lid, Live Lilac (top right) in the creaae with a little bit of Think Pink (top left) in the outer crease. I love all my shimmer cubes but I think this one maybe my overall favorite 🙂 If you haven’t seen my initial review/swatches check it out here or my first look here. I finished the look with MUFE eyebrow corrector as eyeliner and TBS #10 to soften the edges under the browbone.
This look I wore to work a couple of weeks ago. I really liked it and have worn it a few more times. I haven’t bought a lot of makeup recently (does nail polish count?) so I decided to give some love to my neglected Inglot and BodyShop shadows.
Clockwise: Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes (awesome mascara), MakeUpForEver Brow Corrector (best liquid eyeliner), Inglot e/s # 402 (taupe with pearl finish), #360 (taupe in a matte finish), Horizon Blue (Body Shop shimmer cube #17) and MAC Imaginary Paint Pot (base) plus TFSI as primer.
No, it’s not a typo. I bought this Make Up For Ever Waterproof Eyebrow Corrector in dark brown black, $19 at Sephora, to use for that purpose the purpose for which it was intended. To enhance my brows. I saw a tutorial on YouTube using this product and her brows were on point, they were flawless.
So I thought hey, this is exactly what I’ve been looking for and I bought it. Used it as shown in the video and I hated it!!! My brows were too dark for my liking despite the fact I used a teeny tiny amount. I looked awful. I was mad that I spent $19 on this but then refusing to toss it, I decided to make it work. It sat unused for awhile and then one day I was like ” I wonder if this would work as a liquid eyeliner”.
OMG!!!! I’m in love with this, it’s the best liquid liner I’ve ever used (granted that I am not a fan of liquid liners). It’s a lovely rich dark chocolate brown and once on it dries instantly and it is very waterproof. I’ve had my eyeshadow fade after a long day and this is still there, in place.
One needs an extremely tiny amount, and what’s great about this is the tube. You have total control of how much comes out. You can darken the liner by layering.
I am definitely repurchasing this again and again. In fact I use MUFE or other companies would market their liners in tube form like this.
What’s your favorite liquid eyeliner?
Note: Images lost due to a Google bug will retake and repost swatches.
Looking through my stash I wondered how similar these three taupe shadows were to each other. These are the three taupe in pot shadows that I use on a regular basis.
Maybelline Bad to the Bronze, MUFE Aqua Cream #15, and Loreal Bronzed Taupe
In this shot they all look more or less the same
In these two latter pics the MUFE #15 has a bit more of a gold finish to it and the Bad to the Bronze a bit more frostier (I think).
And the winner is……. the Cream EyeShadow
Before fall I only had two small pots and by the end of the year, well see below. I absolutely love them, I never really gotten the hype but after trying a couple different ones I am a believer. They can be used as bases for other shadows – both cream and powder, alone, or as eyeliner. I honestly have enough and will purchase one or two here or there, e.g. I won’t buy all of the new Maybelline cream shadows (I only like one) or every single aqua cream or paint pot. Honorable mention should be given to NYX eye pencils
Benefit: Flash, RSVP, Starstruck (Smashbox)
Airbrush, Static, Foiled, Birthday Suit
I got these mini versions as part of sets I bought at Sephora.
MUFE Aqua Creams: #12 (Golden Copper), #15 (Taupe), #17
MAC Paint Points
See you in the next post!!!
Although I prefer palettes I do have a couple of singles and duos.
For the second small haul, I got the Benefit Ready, Set, Stay set (retail price $26), the Dior Instant Eye Makeup Remover, I got a deluxe sample from Sephora and fell in love (retails $28), check out my first impressions here. Although this is very pricey, I love it and think it’s totally worth the price. It’s so gently, removes everything so I don’t have to tug on my lids too much. Finally, another MUFE Aqua Cream #12 Golden Copper, I have fallen for these (retails $22), so much so that I may get a couple more. I didn’t get the samples I had selected but I’m so happy with these, I love the Jennifer Aniston perfume!!!
Benefit value set (regular price $26). I love Stay Don’t Stray primer so much that I bought the full size (had a deluxe sample that I’ve used up). It retails for $26, but if you can get it in a set with two additional products for the same price then why not. It came with Erase Paste in medium (I’m gifting that to someone) and a creaseless shadow in Birthday Suit. I really like Benefit’s cream shadows and had one before in R.S.V.P which I use very frequently. Sephora has a couple more value sets that have these cream shadows in them.
L to R: MUFE #12 Golden Copper and Benefit’s Birthday Suit (I know it looks similar to MUFE# 15 in my previous haul but they are different).
Well that’s it for this year’s Friends and Family sale. I’ll definitely be getting a backup of the Dior eye makeup remover (hopefully with a coupon, gift card or some other sale).
What did you get from the F&F sale?
