I almost missed out on these quietly released limited edition Milani Rose Blushes. No.09 American Beauty Rose, No.10 Awakening Rose and No.11 Blossomtime Rose. Each retails for $7.99 and are still available online.
American Beauty Rose is described as a true rose pink with a soft gold pearl; Awakening Rose – a dusty rose with iridescent pearl and Blossomtime Rose – a peachy pink with gold pearl. It’s hard to describe the ‘pearl’. It is not really shimmery or glittery (it’s too fine) as it is hardly noticable int he pan and definitely does not show up when applied to the cheeks.
These shades are very pretty although they come off very powdery/chalky while swatching and didn’t blend as well as previous Rose Blushes. However, when applied with a blush brush they blend beautifully and there is no powdery fall out.
At the start of the summer I decided to ‘Shop My Stash’ and give the blushes in my collection so love and actually use them. I have quite a large collection of blushes, well for one person but hey there are 365 days in a year.
I keep my blushes in these little baskets so its easy to pick one and use ts contents. This month I gave some love to the Milani Cosmetics and Laura Gellar baked blushes in my collection as well as a few Coastal Scents Forever blushes (all purchased by me). I also used the Borghese color Eclipse ColorRise blush in Stunner. Some days I used single ones, other days I mixed and some I used as highlighters (a few of the Milani ones are perfect as highlighters).
I have previously swatched and reviewed the Milani blushes here, here, here and here. The only one I have not swatched is No. 11. The Coastal Scents Forever blushes I have swatched here.
I will swatch the Laura Gellar baked blushes in the future, so check back for that post.
I love the Milani baked blushes and was so please to find this one to add to my collection. The most recent two blushes released were the hardest to locate. It is a bright barbie pink with a matte-satin finish. It is gorgeous and adds the slightest flush to the cheeks when applied with a careful hand. In addition to these it is smooth and blends very easily.
Sally Hansens Gray by Gray – I doesn’t actually look grey in the bottle or on the nails but in fact it is a smokey blue-gray polish that is absolutely gorgeous, goes on without streaking and only one coat is needed.
After a few days I decided to try some nail art with thin nail tape.
Over it I put Milani’s Bare to Wear a gray based light taupe.
Recently purchased this collection from Cherry Culture when they were having a 20% off sale. Can’t wait to try so holographic glittery manicures 🙂
These are currently on sale for $3.99 and with an additional 20% off (until midnight 6.26.12) you can score each bottle for $3.19

I need to feed my holographic addiction.
I went to the mall and was delighted to see a sea of corals, oranges and mint greens washing over the department stores. So for the coming weeks, I’ll try to wear nail colors that embrace this fun colorful trend. I picked out all the corals, mints and oranges from my collection and was surprised to see I have so many bottles that represented each color. I’m very excited for this little project as not only will I be trendy but I’ll be able to wear some polishes that may otherwise have been neglected.

Milani Baked Blush Collection Part 3 (see Part 1 and Part 2)
From top to bottom & left to right: #7 Fantastico Mauve, #8 Corallina, #9 Red Vino
These three are absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!! can you see how lovely these are? Unlike the others these three have much a smoother, softer formulation, as such they glide on and the shimmer/glitter doesn’t fallout as much. They are very pigmented and compliments darker skin tones very well.
Overall this collection is gorgeous despite the not so good packaging. The blush itself is only 3.5g and even at it’s highest price of $8.99 in some drugstore is worth it.
Milani baked blush collection review Part 2, check out Part 1
From top to bottom & left to right: #4 Terra Sole, #5 Luminoso, #6 Bellisimo Bronze.
# 4 and 5 are matte blushes with # 6 having a matte payoff too with glitter (all three are a bit dusty but these were heavy swatches). This is unlike typical baked blushes which are very shimmery borderline frosty. On my complexion these may come of ashy but with the right brush Terra Sole may work as a blush and the other two highlighters.
Stay tune for Part 3
Milani Blush Collection (all 9 blushes) flash – top and no flash – bottom
From top to bottom & left to right: #1 Dolce Pink, #2 Rose D’Oro, #3 Berry Amore
These blushes have shimmer that could be a bit messy if not applied with the proper brush, but can be blended out. A bit ‘ashy & chalky’ against my skin tone but could work when a light flush is needed. I think I’d have to use these with a very light hand. Stay tune for Part 2.
