Birthday Haul 2013 – #2

Round 2 of the birthday haulage.
A Coach wristlet, not exactly one of the two that I wanted but I still love it. It’s small but big enough to hold my Samsung galaxy without any problems.

Nail polish etc. from my recent Ulta haul.

I got some tops from Eloquii, this is my second or third time buying their clothes and I love this online store. It is the plus size arm of the Limited but they recently announced that they maybe phasing it out. Why??!! I don’t know anyone who is not a size 0, should be able to buy great, fashionable, and figure flattering clothes too. I am very disappointed in them.

Maybelline Limited Edition Fall 24hr Color Tattoos

I actually found all four at the same time on my second drugstore stop. After seeing these on Instgram (which I am now obsessed with) I stopped at two Walgreens and found them at the second one.
These are four limited edition color tattoos in the Maybelline Fall collection. I someone posted four more pastel spring like colors and said these were also apart of the collection but they are too bright for Fall in my opinion. Still I haven’t come across them but below are the ones I got. These are about 50cents more than the permanent tattoos.
#100 Barely Beige, #300 Gold Shimmer
#400 Rich Mahogany and #200 Mossy Green

Aren’t these gorgeous Rich Mahogny is a exact match for my eye lid color. Barely Beige is a slightly more shimmery version of MACs Painterly paint pot, Gold Shimmer is a much more deeper, richer, warmer gold compared to the permanent Bold Gold and Mossy Green is a very nice warm golden green.

June Highlights

I can’t believe June is already over!!!! Here a just a few of the things I got over the month (I got some of the new L’Oreal summer shadows but I can’t find the pics). This month, I mainly tried to use makeup that I already had but couldn’t resist the Lily Cole cubes or some L’Oreal shadows and of course I bought way too much nail polish. My nail polish hauling included Sally Hansen (below), Barielle (below), Milani (here) and Deborah   Lippmann (swatches in a July post).

From the CVS Sale – scored these with coupons and sale for $9.00. I finally got Sally Hansen’s Gray by Gray 🙂

Scored the latest The Body Shop treat LE Lily Cole Shimmer Cubes for $1.45 see my review and two looks here, here, & here 🙂

My first Barielle polishes from Haute Look

Creamy Taupe Comparisons

Note: Images lost due to a Google bug will retake and repost swatches.
Looking through my stash I wondered how similar these three taupe shadows were to each other. These are the three taupe in pot shadows that I use on a regular basis.
Maybelline Bad to the Bronze, MUFE Aqua Cream #15, and Loreal Bronzed Taupe
In this shot they all look more or less the same

In these two latter pics the MUFE #15 has a bit more of a gold finish to it and the Bad to the Bronze a bit more frostier (I think).

Review & Swatches – Maybelline Color Tattoo

I finally succumbed to the craze and got two of the Maybelline Color Tattoo at a recent BOGO 1/2 off at Walgreens.  I got Painted Purple and Tough as Taupe.
PP is a very pretty purple although blotchy, it applies very smoothly and serves as a great base for matte purple shadows (it’s the only way to even out this cream shadow).
TT is awesome, I love this color, my only problem is that I wish my lids were the same tone as the back of my hand as TT comes off darker when applied to my lids. Other than that I’ve used this as a base and alone for most of the week. It’s great for those everyday work looks 🙂
I think I’ll get just two more since I have a coupon and when they are on sale.

MAC Imaginary Review & EOTD

MAC Imaginary Paint Pot
A whole lot of gorgeousness from one of MAC’s latest collections. It’s a royal blue frosted with purple, blue and red shimmer particles. It is a frost finish that glides on like butter and dries within a couple of seconds. One think I noticed with this paint pot is that when it dries, it does not budge. I actually fell asleep with the the swatch below and when I woke up it was still there. It did not move, rub off or fade. I thought that was amazing.

The EOTD: Benefit Stay Don’t Stray e/s primer, WnW purple cream liner, MAC Imaginary Paint Pot, Stila’s Illimani (above the crease) & Pewter (crease) e/s, Lancome’s Hypnose Drama & Maybelline’s Falsies mascaras.

Review: Maybelline FIT me!

Way back in March Maybelline was on sale for 40% off at Walgreen’s so I decided to try the latest foundation. I so had a $3.00 off coupon so I got both for $6.58 (amazing!!!!!). #355 or Coconut is the darkest shade they carry and to make this easier for the public they also numbered the corresponding pressed powder, bronzer, concealer and blush. So if my ‘correct’ foundation is 355 them it’s best to get all #355 products so everything will ‘blend well’.
At night with overhead lighting and flash
Foundation: 1 oz and has SPF 18
Pressed Powder: 9g
In the daytime with natural light.
Pressed powder in #355

I initially thought it was a solid compact them I noticed that the compact was too ‘thin’ for the size of the compact. There is a compartment for the puff beneath the powder as is found in most drug store pressed powders. I don’t think this is necessary.
L to R Powder blended out, foundation, foundation blended out, matches perfectly but still this formula is only good for a couple of hours not all day.

Now for the reason I don’t believe this FIT me! is 9g. I compared it to a R and R pressed powder which is also 9g. Do you see the difference???? There is now way it’s 9g, the pan isn’t deep enough in the compact.
Now seeing these two side by side I think this R&R powder maybe best reserved for Summer it’s a bit dark.

Pros:
1. Affordable especially if you have a coupon and it’s on sale.
2. #355 is really the only darkest color they have and from watching YT reviews it seems to match a wide variety of dark skin tones.
3. No smell

Cons:
1. Bottle has no pump
2. Compact had additional compartment which is just extra packaging.
3. Gives a dewy finish (I personally don’t like that).
