I picked up a few things for my birthday from Sephora in late March. Mainly to claim the yearly birthday gift before the month ended. I haven’t shopped much at Sephora over the past two years since I discovered Ulta and the Dermstore.
Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer – I love a glossy lip and wanted to try at least one Rhinna created product. This universal shade is so pretty and definitely work appropriate.

Kiehl’s Since 1851 Mini Mask Sampler Set – I have been eyeing the Kiehls mask individually for quite a while now but didn’t want to spend a lot for such large jars. This sampler set is perfect and each 0.5oz jar provides enough for a few routines. I just bought this last week of March and it is now no longer on the site.
Set includes Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Masque, Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Mask, Ginger Leaf & Hibiscus Firming Mask, Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask & Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Mask. The prices do vary from $32 to $54.

500 pt perk – Fresh Mini Mask Bar – Soy face cleanser, Umbrian clay purifying mask, Lotus youth preserve rescue mask and Rose face mask. Each mask retails for $25 – $58.

Bag Balm saved my life this past winter. I use it for my hands, elbows, knees, lips, cuticles and sometimes face (at night). Made in Vermont since 1899 for and probable is still used to soften the udders of hard working cows on many farms. Word spread through the farming communities about how amazing this balm was. So much so that in 1937 Admiral Richard E. Bryd to this with him on his North Pole expedition which helped to protect against the harsh climate. I guess Bag Balm has been slowly making its way to mainstream. It has definitely made its way into my daily life.
I use it primarily for my lips, that seem to be a barometer for weather/temperature fluctuations. One minute they are nice and smooth, the next they get dark, blister and start to peel. This is the reason I do not have a lot of lip products such as lipsticks, balms, glosses etc., I especially avoid products with sunscreen, citrus oils, menthol, and fragrance.
Bag Balm comes in a small 1oz or large 10 oz tins. I have only seen them on the bottom shelf at Walgreens and got main on sale 10 0z for $7.99. This will no doubt last for years. The only drawback is the scent (petroleum), maybe off putting to some but disappears after a few seconds. More information can be found at the Dairy Association CO., INC., or www.bagbalm.com.
Taking advantage of Sephora’s BeautyFALL promotion and used a free shipping code to get these two mini Tarte kits.
Thoughtful Treasures Best-Sellers Set ($19) on top and the Tarte The Bright Time Deluxe Maracuja Oil & Eye Treatment ($10) on the bottom.
I’ve used everything and I really like them. Each kit contains a 0.5oz of Maracuja Oil. The Thoughtful Treasures kit also contains a deluxe LE Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush in Thankful (in golden pink) and a LipSurgence™ Skintuitive Lip Tint in Energy (etherial pink).
Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush in Thankful (in golden pink) and a LipSurgence™ Skintuitive Lip Tint in Energy (etherial pink).
The blush was swatched 3 times to highlight the pink color but it is lovely when applied with a light hand. The lip tint although doesn’t appear to have any color is actually very very tinted. I applied it think it was just a balm but then looked in the mirror after a few minutes and my lips we super pink. I’ll use it lightly but I really like it. The claim of the LipSurgence is that is increases the lip’s moisture content by a whooping 6000%. I’ll have to really test this out.
Glossy Box for August 2013.
The usual GlossyMag was not included with this box but I’m not sure if it was forgotten or its because the interactive mag is now online.
I somehow keep getting products that do not match my skintone. I’ve addressed this issue with GB before and was told its based on my profile which I’ve checked a million times and it clearly states ‘dark’. I just don’t get it.
I am so excited for this lip balm in Cherry Blossom. This is the second Figs & Rouge product from GlossyBox. I really like this brand, they have top notch products.
I’ve just gotten back into using shower gels and if this is like the soap a couple months back them I am in for a treat. Also included was a mini bottle of nails inc. London polish in I am very disappointed. Why send a mini bottle of polish when full size bottles of equal or greater value have previously been included.
Overall, I was not excited or impressed with this box.
Here are my favorites for the month of January. I can’t believe the month is already over!!!!
Clockwise starting with the CVS makeup remover wipes (they smell amazing and are pretty effective, $4.99 for 25 wipes), LUSH Face Mask Sacred Truth, Coconut Body Cream $1 @ Dollar store, Aloe Amino Acid cleanser (review to come), MUFE eyebrow enhancer (I actually use it as a eyeliner; review to come, $19 Sephora), Stila Glamoreyes Mascara, Maybelline Falsies H2O) proof, Kate Spade’s Twirl, LUSH Face Mask Brazened Honey, Blistex nighttime lip therapy (Amazing!!!), Neosporin lip treatment (amazing!!).
So for 2012 I’m going to try something new regarding what nail polishes I wear throughout a given month. Instead of random one I’m going to wear a brand a month. For January I wore Sally Hansen. Overall I love the colors and had no problems with application or chipping.
1. #210 Flirt
2. #37 Almond Creme
3. #16 Blue It (the most gorgeous blue ever, you have to see it in person)
4. # 450 Fairy Teal
5. # Plum Power
Brace yourselves my friends for what has got to be one of the best deals of the month. Full size NARS eyeshadow singles for $8 from Sephora. I was browsing Sephora online Wednesday night and saw that NARS was having a sale on e/s for $8 (regular price $23).
Whenever I shop at Sephora I try to get as much bang for every buck I spend. I was proud of myself this time I only got the two shadows. So here’s what I got for $16.
L to R: Night Sun and California
Gorgeous, very pigmented, smooth and even though Night Sun has gold flecks there is no fallout and they do not seem chunky. Described on Sephora.com as a bright marigold with gold flecks. California is said to be like molten copper. I like these very much and I think these would be a great pair for Fall among the changing leaves.
I got the following samples includes a Thierry Mugler Womanity sample (shown in 1st pic):
Oh before I forget I also cashed in 500 beauty points for this Tarte collection:
I’ve been wanting this bronzer forever!!! it’s absolutely gorgeous 🙂
So to celebrate the end of summer (not really, I just wanted these) I got a few treats. In my eagerness to share my haul since they all came in the mail today, I took pics with my phone. I lent my camera to my sister because she is going to a club tonight and Pauly D (of Jersey Shore fame) is the DJ.
The JulieG nail polish collection!!!!!! JulieG is a beauty guru on YouTube and just has the best videos and tutorials. I purchased the 8 piece collection for $25 and her first polish JulieG (center) for $2.99 from Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics only was it cheaper than at RiteAid but they have free shipping on any order over $20. Starting clockwise: Girls Night Out, Stiletto, Mermaid’s Lagoon, Beauty Guru, Party Dress, Fashion Friday, All Things Girly, and Cupcake Frosting. I’ll be reviewing these with better pics throughout September, so stay tuned!!
ELF- I needed some more brushes I few I had the glue wore out and the metal fell off. I found that strange since they are always in a cool place and I don’t wash my brushes that often. I got two more eyeliners, 2 lipsticks, lipgloss and 2 lipbalms. I’m post an overall review of the lip products since I’ve never tried them before.
I‘ve always loved perfume but have stuck with my two favorite ones. Recently I’ve started to branch out and try more e.g high end, drugstore, celebrity, artisan etc. I’ve been reading up on the history of perfume, perfume houses, perfumers, notes etc. As an AVON rep (click the Avon image at the top left hand corner of my page to go to my store) I’ve decided to better acquaint myself with their fragrances. I’ve found via research that quite a number of AVON scents are dupes for higher end designer fragrances. Stay tuned for reviews and let you know which ones they are, I also wanted to mentioned that I purchased these products with my own money.
Last but not least the latest from Burberry:
The company gave away samples to anyone that liked their FaceBook page and requested one. I requested two I hope I get them both.
I didn’t get much at the Bath and Body Works Spring semi annual sale this time around.
I did get Carried Away
I stocked up on what has to be the best scent ever!!!!!! I get compliments all the time when I wear this.
I first heard about this lip balm (Cocoa Butter Lip Care Stick) from The Body Shop from InsideOutElle and decided to try it out . Then I fell in love and had to go back for more.
Can you see just how much I LOVE this lip balm?!!!!
I went back to buy more only to find out they were out of stock, so I waited patiently for two weeks then I got an email alert and luckily the Body Shop was having a buy 2 get one free plus free shipping!!! that deal was too amazing so I got three.
“A handy mini stick that offers extra-intensive melt-on moisture for the lips, thanks to its innovative concetrated format. Melts and glides over skin as you apply, leaving it feeling soft, smooth and supple.” the body shop
Repurchase: Yes and Yes
Pros: smells divine, smooth, does not irritate even damaged lips, melts on your lips etc
Cons: some may say it’s a bit pricey but unlike other lip products is more natural/organic base.
