Review: Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara – Influenster Rose VoxBox

This is the last review from the 2013 RoseVoxBox. Rimmel makes a number of great and noteworthy products and they have recently added another mascara ‘Scandaleyes Retro Glam’. As expected this did not disappoint (well for the most part). It did give the bold wide-eyed look as claimed on the package but I found it to be a bit too wet.  In addition to this found that it would clump on occasion. Overall, I like this mascara it just needs a bit of work.
It is sold everywhere Walgreens, Riteaid, Walmart, Target etc. and retails for $5.99 – $6.99. Be sure to check the weekly drugstore circulars for sales and coupons.

NYC Dark Shadows EOTD

Here’s the look I did with the NYC Individuals Eyes Dark Shadow palette I got in my Influenster Beauty Blogger Vox Box. I used all the shadows in the palette and blended very well. The shadows held up very well during the course of the day, see my initial thoughts and swatches here.

Australis Paparazzi Perfect EOTD

Another goodie from my Australia swap – Australis Paparazzi Perfect HD Eyeshadow in Snap Attack
Although this palette is very shimmery it actually creates very wearable ‘work appropriate’ looks. Here is just one combo that I do. This look has a little bit of all five shadows, over TFSI and MAC Painterly paintpot, finished off with Marbella eyeliner (from one of the MyGlam bags) and Lancome Doll Lashes.
Here a swatches of the individual shadows.
They are shimmery/frosty, soft and blends easily.

EOTD- Lily Cole Shimmer Cubes Look #2

The only cube I didn’t use in this look was Go Violet (dark purple)
I applied MAC Painterly Paintpot over TFSI and Tint it Pink (light pink/champange color) all over the lid, Live Lilac (top right) in the creaae with a little bit of Think Pink (top left) in the outer crease. I love all my shimmer cubes but I think this one maybe my overall favorite 🙂 If you haven’t seen my initial review/swatches check it out here or my first look here. I finished the look with MUFE eyebrow corrector as eyeliner and TBS #10 to soften the edges under the browbone.

EOTD – Lily Cole Shimmer Cube Palette

Here is a first look using the Body Shop’s new Lily Cole Shimmer Cube Palette #24. To see swatches check out yesterday’s post here. For today’s look I used Chanel’s Illusoire, Live Lilac all over the lid, Think Pink in the crease and a little of Go Violet on the outer lid. I used Jordana’s Fabuliner in brown, Lancome’s Doll Lashes mascara and TBS #10 to blend out the edge of Think Pink.

I’ll have a different combo for tomorrow 🙂

EOTD: Pink & Grey

Giving some love to one of my favorite color combos: pink and grey

L’Oreal Infallible shadow in Sultry Smoke over
 Estee Lauder Smokey Twilight

Then from my Coastal Scents 88 Metal  palette a
light and dark pink to complete this awesome look.

EOTD: Blue Purple Taupe

This look I wore to work a couple of weeks ago. I really liked it and have worn it a few more times. I haven’t bought a lot of makeup recently (does nail polish count?) so I decided to give some love to my neglected Inglot and BodyShop shadows.
Clockwise: Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes (awesome mascara), MakeUpForEver Brow Corrector (best liquid eyeliner),  Inglot e/s # 402 (taupe with pearl finish), #360 (taupe in a matte finish), Horizon Blue (Body Shop shimmer cube #17) and MAC Imaginary Paint Pot (base) plus TFSI as primer.

EOTD: Gold & Brown with CHANEL Bronze Universal

I am trying to be very good and not buy any makeup, although I do have my eye on the Clarins Summer palette. So shopping my stash I decided to use a very neglected item my Chanel Bronze Universal. I wanted to see if it could be used as a n eyeshadow base.

This look – TFSI (primer), Chanel (base), Sunrise/Sunset (Black Radiance), Brown (Dior Silver Look) and Buck (N1)
12+ hours later after a very long sweaty day. I ended up going to the mouse room (in the basement of one of the research buildings) for a couple hours and then in lab running around.

I’d say it held up pretty well with only minimal creasing and the colors were still vibrant. So I have another use for the Chanel bronzer apart from highlighting  since it’s a bit too light for my skin tone.
