I enjoyed all my Tarte, La Femme and Coastal Scents blushes in the month of August. I think these new MAC palettes are the best on the market and great value for money. Eight dollars per palette and although it is not magnetic that can be easily solved by using stick on magnets from Walmart, ebay, Amazon or Michaels.
I depotted all my Tarte blushes except one from a palette. Tarte blushes are super easy to depot, pigmented and long lasting. All one needs is a pin. The La Femme blushes are another great value for money, roughly $3.50/blush. These blushes have been extensively reviewed and are super pigmented. The Coastal Scents palette is the largest pre-made palette I own.
I LOVE BLUSH!!!!!!!!!!!
At the start of the summer I decided to ‘Shop My Stash’ and give the blushes in my collection so love and actually use them. I have quite a large collection of blushes, well for one person but hey there are 365 days in a year.
I keep my blushes in these little baskets so its easy to pick one and use ts contents. This month I gave some love to the Milani Cosmetics and Laura Gellar baked blushes in my collection as well as a few Coastal Scents Forever blushes (all purchased by me). I also used the Borghese color Eclipse ColorRise blush in Stunner. Some days I used single ones, other days I mixed and some I used as highlighters (a few of the Milani ones are perfect as highlighters).
I have previously swatched and reviewed the Milani blushes here, here, here and here. The only one I have not swatched is No. 11. The Coastal Scents Forever blushes I have swatched here.
I will swatch the Laura Gellar baked blushes in the future, so check back for that post.
The Coastal Scents REVEALED 2 eyeshadow palette contains 20 highly pigmented shadows. It is a bit richer and warmer than the original REVEALED palette (reviewed here). Unlike the first, R2 has more rose and pink tones shades with a good mix of mattes and shimmers. The quality is just as good, smooth, blendable. pigmented except for one (row 1, shade 4) which was a bit chunky and hard to swatch and pick up with a brush. I swatched the shadows with and without flash. Each palette retails for $19.95 and could be less (they have sales a few times a year).
Shadows 11 – 15
Shadows 16 – 20
Coastal Scents revealed their third ‘neutral’ palette yesterday (03.06.15). The REVEAL3D is said to be the a combo of REVEALED 1 & 2. I have the first two and most likely will purchase this one to complete my collection. At least until they come out with the next one. I have used these more than my NAKED 1 palette from Urban Decay and technically all three Revealed Palettes combined cost the same a just one of the Naked palettes. The shadows are of comparable quality both in longevity and blendability. R1 is similar and can be duped for N1 and the same for R2 for N2. R3 seems to have a bit more color than the previous 2, it has more purple and yellow based shadows.
I have previously reviewed and swatched R1 here and may do the same for R2 in the coming weeks and follow up with 3 later.
R- Revealed, N- Naked

My blush obsession continues. I saw a few reviews on YouTube on how gorgeous and highly pigmented these blushes are, and of course I had to get a couple to try for myself. I decided on just getting only four of the Forever Blushes. They are indeed long lasting, soft and very blendable. Each compact comes with a mirror, it’s is light and secure enough to throw in ones purse. Unfortunately, Elegant (satin finish) had a little mishap during shipping so I didn’t open the package to swatch it. Now here is where Coastal Scents has the best customer service. I contacted them to let them know and I got a replacement within 3 days.
L to R: Royal (matte finish), Passionate (matte finish) and Beautiful (matte finish)
Each blush retails for $7.95 but if you wait on one of Coastal Scents many sales you can probably get each half off.
I finally got REVEALED!!!!!
I am so happy that I finally got my hands on this new palette from Coastal Scents and I must say I am impressed. I did not buy a lot of makeup in 2013 especially eyeshadows. I did indulge on blushes (updated collection to come soon). This 20 shadow palette retails for $19.95 but can be had for less during one of CS regular sales. The shadows are very soft and blendable. The palette itself is thin, sleek, lightweight, made of sturdy paper (very environmentally friendly), has a magnetic closure which makes it great for travel.
Top row # 1-5: has three matte and two shimmer/satin shadows
Top Row #6-10; one matte and four shimmer/satins
Bottom Row: #1-5: all shimmer/satins
Bottom Row #6 – 10: 4 shimmer/satins and one matte (this black at the end is one of the softest most pigmented I’ve seen in any palette to date.
Overall I would give this a 4.75/5 (I wish the palette had a mirror).
Apart from the two blushes I purchased recently, I also picked up a few things from Coastal Scents and E.L.F. Checking my accounts I realized it has been ages since I purchased products from either two.
Eyes Lips Face – 80 piece Day to Night Palette, 2 foundations brushes (to apply masks), 2 spoolies (one can never have enough), a fan brush, 2 baked blushes, 2 Shimmering facial whips and 2 All Over Cover Sticks.
Coastal Scents – Finally got the REVEALED palette, a small buffing brush, and 4 Forever Blushes. Many swatches to come.
Feast your eyes on the latest palette in the world of neutrals. Coastal Scents has just released their version of I’m going to say it the ‘NAKED’ palettes. They present RELEAVED “Expose your natural beauty with this exquisite collection of nude and metallic hues. These smooth, powdered shadows blend seamlessly to create an array of day or evening looks. The slim palette holds all twenty shadows, allowing for easy on-the-go application.”
The offer more or less a mix of both N1 and N2 (20 shades) for only $19.95 (one fifth of the price). This is a steal given a naked palette is now $52. Therefore $19.95 compared to $104. I hope someone gets one soon so I can see some swatches and comparisons.

Here’s the final installment of my birthday haul.
Not shown are two Jo Malone perfume samples Nectarine Blossom and Honey and Wild BlueBell. I’m leaning more towards the latter scent now. It’s divine and perfect for Spring.
From The Body Shop: a body polish and with a coupon and sale, I got a powder and two blush brushes. Everything came up to a grand total of $28.30 (including tax).!!!! Note that the brushes ranged from $24-$26.
This was a random treat, two Egyptian perfume bottles from Fire & Ice.
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!!!! Last week CS was having a sale and I scooped these up for $9.95 each. Each blush is gorgeous and no two are alike. A more in-depth review will be posted in the future.
So that’s it. I had a great time treating myself (I also redeemed my Starbucks bday drink, a venti carmel frapp). If your birthday has already passed, happy belated, if it is to come happy birthday.
